4-H/Youth Development: Blast off with the Kentucky 4-H Science, Engineering and Technology Leadershi

Kentucky 4-H is offering a great opportunity to get teens excited about science and leadership. The 4-H Science, Engineering and Technology Leadership Board will help 4-Hers discover the possible career tracks in these disciplines, master necessary technical skills, build self-confidence and develop relationships with their peers across the state. Not to mention, some of the fastest growing job sectors involve a strong background in these fields.

The teen board is now accepting applications for its next class of leaders. To be considered for the board, teens must be 4-H members in good standing and in grades eight to 11 when applying. Interviews for potential members will be conducted during the 2018 4-H Teen Conference.

Those selected are required to attend SET Day at the Kentucky State Fair in August, promote National Youth Science Day in the fall, and attend the 2019 4-H Summit and Teen Conference.

Interested 4-Hers must get an application from their county agent for 4-H youth development. The application deadline is May 4th. Send application to Torey Earle, UK College of Engineering, Extended Campus, 210 Crisp Bld., 4810 Alben Barkely Dr., Paducah, Ky. 42002-7380 (phone 270-534-3105; fax-270-534-3071) or as an email attachment to tearle@uky.edu so that it will arrive no later than the deadline.
