Hoffman


Walter Carl Hoffmann, 90, husband of Virginia Hoffmann, died Monday, March 26, 2018, at his home in Versailles.

Born on Oct. 4, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Carl and Johanna Held Hoffmann. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a customer service representative for Rand McNally for 30 years.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, survivors include three children, Lori (Steve) Edds, James (Sherry) Hoffmann, both of Versailles; and John Hoffmann, Lexington; seven grandchildren, Clint Edds, Amber Fairchild, Karli Edds, Ali Edds, Leah Woolums, Mary Elizabeth Hoffmann and Amanda Manns; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eleanor Malan.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, March 29, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. with military honors at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m.
