Jane Mitchell Shipp, 88, widow of Hubert W. Shipp, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at her home.

Born on Nov. 10, 1929, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Alma Long Mitchell. She graduated as salutatorian from Midway High School. She was part owner and a beautician for 25 years at Terra Lee Beauty Salon and was a manager for Central State Managers.

Survivors include three children, Steven (Mary) McDaniel, Versailles; Linda (Denny) Hart, Lexington; Virginia (Hardin) Field, Versailles; a sister, Myra Mitchell, Midway; a brother, William J. (Patsy) Mitchell, Versailles; stepchildren, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Mitchell.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 30, at Midway Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601.
