WCHS girls' lacrosse beats Tates Creek

The Lady Jackets lacrosse team defeated the Tates Creek lady Commodores 15-2 on Monday, March 26. The Lady Jackets raced to a 6-1 lead at halftime and added tallied nine more scores in the second half to win the district game.

WCHS sophomore Brittany Sherrod led the Lady Jackets in scoring with five goals and three assists. Junior Abbey peterson had four goals and one assist and Freshamn Avery McFarland had a hat trick on six shot attempts. Sherrod led the team in ground balls with 11 and Peterson was second with six. Sherrod and sophomore Brie Gaines each had an interception for the Lady Jackets. WCHS sophomore Olivia Olivas allowed two goals on four shot attempts.

The Lady Jackets lost to the Farragut High School Lady Admirals in the second game of a double-header on Saturday, March 24 in Knoxville, Tenn. Peterson led the Jackets in scoring with two goals and McFarland also scored. Peterson led Woodford in fielding with seven ground balls. Olivas allowed 17 goals on 24 attempts by the Lady Admirals.

The Lady Jackets lost the opener of a two game double-header, 14-1 to the Seymour High School Lady Eagles on Saturday, March 24 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Abbey Peterson scored the only goal for the Lady Jackets. McFarland led Woodford in fielding with four ground balls, Peterson had three. Olivas surrendered 14 goals on 34 shot attempts.
