Raquet Jackets fall to Lexington Catholic

The Woodford County High School tennis team was defeated 6-5 by Lexington Catholic on Tuesday, March 27 at Shillito Park in Lexington.

The WCHS boys won their match up with the Knights 3-2.

WCHS junior Evan Spradlin lost in straight sets to Ben Deaton in the No. 1 singles match (6-0, 6-0). WCHS sophomore Joe Kowalke won the No. 2 singles match over Dameon Jones (7-5, 7-6). In the No. 3 singles match, WCHS senior Eli Smith defeated Victor Wei (6-4, 6-1).

WCHS junior Mason Mcintyre and freshman Evan Bentley were defeated by Thomas Kaplan and Travis True in the No. 1 doubles match (6-1, 7-6). In the No. 2 doubles match, WCHS freshman Zachary Stiefel and junior Ben Ison won in straight sets over Ramsey and Campion (6-0, 6-1).

The Lady Jackets lost 4-2 by the Lady Knights.

WCHS junior Addison beck lost in straight sets to Jaycie Mair (6-4, 6-2). WCHS freshman Claire Pinkston was impressive in her win over Elizabeth Herbert-Jones (6-1, 6-1).

WCHS senior Alyssa Feldner and sophomore Nicole Feldner fell to Ann Shashy and Kiley Mair (6-1, 6-0). WCHS junior Allison Miller and sophomore Sophie Wingo lost in straight sets to Maggie Vallet and Sarah Farrell (6-1, 6-1). WCHS sophomore Caroline Miller and junior Kassie Cook defeated Martha McCarty and Sarah Simon-Patches (6-2, 7-6).In the final doubles match, WCHS junior Hannah Brady and freshman Katelyn Hamilton lost in three sets to Mollee Star and Grace McMillen (5-7, 7-5, 7-10).
