Earth Day @ The Park on Saturday, April 21

Families in the community are being invited to downtown Versailles to spend their afternoon at Big Spring Park on Saturday, April 21.

“Earth Day @ The Park” begins at 12:30 and continues until 5:30 p.m., with environmental education opportunities for children, voter registration for their parents and a variety of food trucks for everyone.

“We want to bring people down to the park,” said Versailles City Council member Laura Dake, who serves on the Big Spring Park subcommittee exploring ways to make improvements to the 17-acre outdoor site in the heart of downtown Versailles.

A table will be set up for “Earth Day @ The Park” to give people in the community an opportunity to learn about efforts to revitalize this outdoor recreation space and offer input on what they’d like to see at Big Spring Park.

“Tell us their ideas,” said lifelong Woodford County resident Lillie Cox, who serves on the Big Spring Park subcommittee. “What would they like to see it become again?
