WCHS sends eight wrestlers to NWCA Duals in Indiana

Eight Woodford County High School wrestlers were selected eight wrestlers to compete for

Team Kentucky in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Folkstyle Duals in Indiana on April 6 and 7. WCHS wrestling Coach Rusty Parks and assistant Corey Cardwell led three teams in the event. Kentucky Blue finished third and featured three WCHS wrestlers.

Kentucky Blue defeated Ohio Titans Red 60-9

In the 138-pound weight class, WCHS junior Ronan Wyatt defeated Zayne Lehman by fall. In the 152-pound weight class, WCHS junior Wyatt Andreoni won by fall over Damien Skelly. WCHS junior Triston Brooks won an 8-1 decision over Brock Lowry in the 160-pound weight class.

Kentucky Blue defeated Indiana Renegades North 40-15

Wyatt defeated Aaron McKinley by a 2-0 decision in the 138-pound weight class. Wyatt Andreoni defeated Drew Sailors by technical fall 19-4 in the 152-pound weight class. In the 160-pound weight class, Brooks pinned Hayden Prater in the second period.

Kentucky Blue defeated Colorado 34-27

Wyatt Andreoni won by forfeit in thew 152-pound weight class. Brooks won by forfeit in the 160-pound weight class.

Indiana Gold defeated Kentucky Blue 69-0 in the first round of the Gold Pool.

in the 138-pound weight class, Wyatt lost by technical fall to Connor Gimson 19-4. Wyatt Andreoni lost by major decision to Elliott Rodgers in the 152-pound weight class. In the 160-pound weight class, Brooks lost by technical fall to Nicholas South 17-0.

Illinois Outsiders defeated Kentucky Blue 59-5 in the second round of the Gold Pool.

In the 138-pound weight class, Wyatt lost by major decision to Giovanni Cassioppi. In the 152-pound weight class, Wyatt Andreoni lost by fall to Baylor Fernandes and Brooks lost by fall to Alex Cramer in the 160-pound match.

Kentucky Blue defeated Compound Georgia 31-27 in the third round of the gold pool.

In the 138-pound weight class, Wyatt lost a 6-0 decision to Rodney Winston. Wyatt Andreoni defeated Lucas DeSilva by decision in the 152-pound weight class. Brooks won by forfeit in the 160-pound weight class.

Kentucky Blue received a bye in round four.

Kentucky Blue defeated Indiana Renegades South 32-29 in the fifth round of the gold pool.

Wyatt Andreoni lost by major decision to Robert Deters in the 152-pound weight class and Brooks won a major decision over Clay Singleton in the 160-pound weight class.

Kentucky Red

Illinois Outsiders defeated Kentucky Red 77-0 in the first round.

In the 120-pound weight class, WCMS eighth-grader Reece Goss was pinned in the second period by Anthony Molton.

In the second round, Indiana Blue defeated Kentucky Red 61-0.

In the 120-pound weight class, Goss lost by decision by AJ Black.

Nebraska Red defeated Kentucky Red 53-18 in the third round.

Goss won a 9-7 decision over Zach Hamilton in the 120-pound weight class.

X-Men defeated Kentucky Red 57-20 in the first round of the Copper Pool.

In the 120-pound weight class, Goss lost by fall to Cameron Amento.

Kentucky White

Illinois Inferno defeated Kentucky White 54-12

In the 106-pound weight class, eighth-grader Gavin Andreoni won by forfeit. WCHS freshman Dylan Preston lost by fall to Reese Durlacher in the 126-pound weight class. WCHS junior CJ Cardwell lost a major decision to Ryan Fleck in the 138-pound weight class. In the 170-pound weight class, WCHS freshman Tony Ornelas lost by technical fall to Daymen Middlebrooks.

Indiana Gold defeated Kentucky White 75-3 in round two.

Gavin Andreoni lost by fall to Alex Cottey in the 106-pound weight class. Preston lost by technical fall to Cayden Rooks in the 126-pound weight class. Cardwell lost by technical fall in the 138-pound weight class and Ornelas was pinned in the the 170-pound weight class by Cody Klettheimer.

Kentucky White defeated Mafia RP 79-0

Gavin Andreoni won by forfeit in the 106-pound weight class. In the 126-pound weight class, Preston won a 6-4 decision over Zion Wilhite. Cardwell won by major decision over Elijah Ross in the 138-pound weight class. Ornelas won by forfeit in the 170-pound weight class.

Indiana Renegades North defeated Kentucky White 37-33 in the first round of the Bronze Pool.

Preston lost a 14-3 major decision to Andrew Wilson in the 126-pound weight class. Cardwell won by sudden victory over Aaron McKinley in the 138-pound weight class and Ornelas won by decision over Dylan Deadmond in the 170-pound weight class.

Illinois South defeated Kentucky White 54-12 in the second round.

Gavin Andreoni lost a 9-2 decision to Cain Tyus in the 106-pound weight class. Preston lost a close 3-2 decision in the 126-pound weight class. Cardwell was defeated by decision in the 138-pound weight class. Ornelas lost by major decision to Cameron Nesbitt in the 170-pound weight class.

Kentucky white received a bye in the third round.

Ohio Titans Blue defeated Kentucky White 57-21 in the fourth round.

Ornelas lost by fall to Gavin Davis in the 170-pound weight class. Gavin Andreoni lost by fall to Kyle Rowan in the 106-pound match. Preston was pinned by Kolbie Lange in the 126-pound weight class and Cardwell lost by fall in the 138-pound weight class.

Kentucky White defeated Nebraska Red 42-29 in the fifth round.

Gavin Andreoni won by fall over Wyatt Schoepf in the 106-pound weight class.Ornelas lost by technical fall to Carson Zwingman in the 170-pound weight class and Preston lost a 5-0 decision to Nate Christensen in the 126-pound weight class.
