Woodford County High School senior Trevor Welch signed his letter of intent to play lacrosse for the Asbury University at a ceremony held on Thursday, April 12 at the WCHS library.

WCHS Athletic Director Dennis Johnson introduced Welch and praised him for his work ethic. “He's a great kid and put himself in a great position to go to Asbury and better himself in the process.” said Johnson.

Selecting Asbury was an easy decision, Welch said. “It's close to home and has phenomenal academics. They have great programs for students to travel abroad and that is something I am very interested in.”

Welch thanked his parents when he spoke at the ceremony. “Mom and Dad have sacrificed for me and we have been through so much as a family. I cannot thank you both enough for all you have given to me.”

Welch has seven goals scored this season and has added three assists.
