Schools Superintendent Paul Stahler told the Woodford County Board of Education that the board has not received a response or counter-offer from Woodford Fiscal Court related to an inquiry by the board to purchase Community Stadium at an appraised price.
Eleven horses died early Saturday, April 19, in a barn fire at Fab Oak Stable on Paynes Mill Road.
The murder trial of Jason Lee Todd began in Woodford Circuit Court Monday.Todd was accused of killing Valerie Monjure in August of 2006.
The Woodford County Middle School archery team recently participated in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Kentucky Region 5 and NASP state archery tournaments, and after two solid performances, the Tigers have been invited to compete in the NASP National Tournament in May.

Dr. C. Noel Hall Sr., 78, who had practiced medicine here for over 40 years before his retirement in August 1987, died Tuesday, April 27.
Woodford County’s population grew by 2.1 percent from the 1990 census to 1991, bringing the total to 20,366, it was estimated by the Kentucky State Data Center

April 27, 1978 Contracts have been signed between the city and county and Real Earth Ltd. on financing a solid waste disposal method proposed by Real Earth. A location for the facility has not been determined, however, depending on a zone change request in the industrial park.

Dr. Donald W. Durham, pastor of Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington for the past 15 years, has been named executive director of the Methodist Children’s Home of Kentucky in Versailles.
