WCHS girls' lacrosse wins double-header

The Woodford County High School girls' lacrosse team won both games of a double-header on Saturday, April 21. In the first game, The Lady Jackets routed Madison County 21-2, and in the second game beat Anderson County 11-6.

Anderson County

WCHS junior Abbey Peterson scored five goals and added one assist to lead the Lady Jackets. WCHS sophomore Brittany Sherrod scored four goals and had two assists. Freshman Avery McFardland led the team in ground balls with seven.

Madison County

Peterson led the Lady Jackets with an incredible eight goals on nine shots and added five assists. Sherrod added six goals and four assists. WCHS freshman Sam Stevens and sophomore Giselle Uribe each had a hat trick for the Lady Jackets and Olivas stopped five out of seven shots on goal.

Scott County

The Woodford County High School girls' lacrosse team defeated the Scott County Lady Cardinals 12-6 on Wednesday, April 18. Peterson and sophomore Brittany Sherrod led the Lady Jackets in scoring four goals each. Sherrod added four assists for a total of eight points.

Olivas allowed six goals and made nine saves.
