‘Smokey Joe’s’ trivia night

Prior to closing its 2017-18 season with three weekends of “Smokey Joe’s Café” beginning Friday, May 18, Woodford Theatre will partner with Versailles Brewing Company for an evening of trivia.

Smokey Joe’s Trivia Night on Friday, May 4, from 6:30 to 10 p.m., at Versailles Brewing Company, will be highlighted by 1950s and ‘60s music trivia. “It should be a really fun way to get people out and prepared for some really great music in Smokey Joe’s,” said Tony Del Grosso, Woodford Theatre managing director.

Woodford Theatre has a suggested donation of $10 a person for trivia night, which begins at 6:30 so attendees can get seated, hear rules and order food before the trivia begin.

Live musical interludes will provide entertainment and an informal preview of “Smokey Joe’s Café” during the night, he added.

Describing the upcoming cabaret-style musical as a review of iconic songs from the 1950s, Executive/Artistic Director Trish Clark said

“Smokey Joe’s Café” was a great show to end Woodford Theatre’s 30th birthday season. Those coming to the show will “definitely know the songs,” said Del Grosso.

“These singers – some of them will be better than you’d hear on a Broadway stage,” said Clark of the “Smokey Joe’s Café” cast.
