Seven Jackets earn All-State lacrosse honors

Four members of the State Champion Lady Jackets' lacrosse team and three members of the WCHS boys' lacrosse team were named to the All-State team.

WCHS sophomore Brittany Sherrod scored 89 goals this season, including seven in the championship game against Scott County. She added 32 assists and 146 ground balls.WCHS sophomore Olivia Olivas saved 151 shot attempts this season in her first year as goalkeeper. She earned 13 wins in net and had one shutout in a 20-0 win over Bowling Green.WCHS sophomore Brie Gaines scored four goals this season and added 59 ground balls.WCHS junior Abbey Peterson scored 81 goals, had 29 assists and added 84 ground balls.WCHS senior Brody McCoun scored 66 goals this season including a season-high eight goals in a win over Dixie Heights March 17. He finished his high school career with 122 goals.WCHS senior Trevor Welch scored 16 goals and added three assists this season. He also chipped in with 41 ground balls and two takeaways.WCHS Junior Everett Thompson totaled 194 ground balls this season and set the state career record with 394.
