High school tax hike fails

In Tuesday’s special election, Woodford County residents rejected a a 5.5 cent property tax hike (per $100 of assessed value) to fund a new high school and other facility improvements by a margin of 316 votes.

The final tally was 3,758 (52.19 percent) to 3,442 (47.81 percent).
