Summer Gala Auctions At Keeneland In July

Bourbon, horses, and UK basketball, that’s the unofficial theme of Woodford Humane Society’s Summer Gala Auctions this year. Want to get your hands on some hard-to-find bourbon? Want to see the UK men’s basketball team take on Kansas at Rupp Arena this fall? There are a couple of ways to get in on the action and you’ll be helping homeless animals while you do.

The Summer Gala is right around the corner. On July 14, we’ll be welcoming guests at the Keeneland Entertainment Center for an evening of dining and drinks, live music and dancing, fantastic raffles, and two exciting auctions.

The Live Auction

The Live Auction will take place during the Summer Gala, and you must be present to bid, so make sure you reserve your seat at the event before ticket sales close on July 8! Guests at the Gala will be able to bid on four fantastic live auction items: VIP tickets to the Breeders’ Cup; a phenomenal package from Buffalo Trace with a private tour and signed bottles of Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year and E. H. Taylor; a luxurious Caribbean getaway and a private bourbon tasting for up to 40 including an overnight stay at the Castle for eight the night of the Gala. If any of those pique your interest, you can get your tickets or reserve a table for eight at the Gala today at 501auctions.com/whsgala.

The Silent Auction

If you can’t make it to the Summer Gala in person this year, don’t miss out on all the fun. The silent auction is open to everyone, and you can bid from anywhere with your smart phone! If you’re a UK men’s basketball fan, we’ve got lower arena tickets to the home games against Kansas in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge and Auburn. They could be yours.

There’s also more great bourbon in the silent auction: Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, Makers Mark, Calumet, and a great package with bottles of Henry McKenna Single Barrel, Elijah Craig Small Batch, and Benchmark 8.

For horse lovers, the silent auction includes: box seats at Keeneland and Churchill Downs, private tours of local thoroughbred farms, equine art, sculpture, and photography and a painting by a local contemporary artist of Grand Slam Champion American Pharaoh signed by Victor Espinoza and Bob Baffert.

With over 100 items to choose from, including summer family outings, spa days and overnight stays, there’s truly something for everyone in the silent auction. Bidding is open now, so head to 501auctions.com/whsgala/register and start claiming your favorites!

We hope you’ll be joining us July 14 for the Summer Gala and bid up a storm in the weeks to come! Your participation and support make a real difference in the lives of Woodford Humane Society’s animals. With no government funding at any level, support like yours is what allows us to continue our lifesaving work. We’ll gladly raise a toast to you, our fellow animal lovers, as bidding in the live and silent auctions closes on July 14. Here’s to the power of bourbon, horses, and UK basketball, and we’ll see you at the Gala!
