Bethany Todd transfers to EKU
Former University of Kentucky pitcher Bethany Todd has joined Eastern Kentucky University softball, EKU Coach Jane Worthington announced recently.
“We are fortunate to be adding Bethany to our roster,” Worthington said. “I have been able to watch her throughout her high school career and have been impressed with her ability to strike out hitters. I look forward to working with her and I am expecting her to contribute right away as a valuable part of our pitching staff.”
The 6-foot pitcher hurled 11 innings and rang up six batters in her freshman campaign with the Wildcats. Todd’s season-high of four strikeouts came against Middle Tennessee State on April 6.
The Versailles, Kentucky native was a five time 41st District champion for Woodford County High School. Todd received the defensive leadership award twice, was a Triple Crown National Champion, named first team all-state, the Sally Gaines MVP, the Region 11 MVP, Class 3A Player of the Year and Kentucky All-Stars Section Player of the Year her senior season.
