Fair Kiwanis Youth Day

The Kiwanis Club of Versailles conducted Youth Day at the Woodford County Fair on Tuesday, June 19. Club-sponsored Boy Scouts of America Troop 43 and Cub Scout Pack 32 opened the event with the Presentation of Colors and the Pledge of Allegiance.Fourteen Kiwanis members, assisted by Scouts and adult leaders, conducted a field day for boys and girls in the age divisions of 7 and under, 8 to 11, and 12 to 15.Thirty-three boys and twenty-three girls competed in the 50 yard-dash, 100-yard dash, softball throw (girls), football pass (boys), frisbee throw, sack race and wheelbarrow race. First place finishers received a blue ribbon and a medallion, second place a red ribbon, third place a white ribbon and all participants were presented a green ribbon.
