William Clay Green, 83, husband of Gerry Fallis Green, died Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Baptist Healthcare in Lexington.

Born at Faywood, in Woodford County, he was a son of the late Edward Stanley and Margaret Bell Greenup Green. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served from 1953 to his retirement in 1981. He then worked for the Marriott Hotel and Transylvania University as a maintenance engineer. He was a member of the Salvisa Christian Church.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, survivors include three sons, Mark (Julie) Green, Homosassa, Florida; Kevin Green, Versailles; and Sean (Betsy) Green, Lexington; a brother, Paul Edward (Peggy) Green of Homestead, Florida; 10 grandchildren, Emily Green Eastman, Sydney Green, Jakob Green, Peyton Green, Tyler Green, Amanda Moehring, Robbie Moehring, Chris Moehring Andrea Moehring and DeeAnna Moehring; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Garnett Green; and a sister, Mildred Green.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, by the Rev. Doug Alexander. Military honors and interment will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Thursday, July 19, at the funeral home.
