Woodford Theatre’s capital campaign public launch Saturday

The Woodford Theatre will have its public launch of a capital campaign for making improvements to its facilities Saturday, July 28.
A wine and cheese reception begins at the home of Dr. William Foley and his wife, Lou Ellen, at 6 p.m. before a silent auction and backstage tours are hosted by Woodford Theatre at 7.
The public launch event ends with “A Celebration of the Woodford County Thoroughbred” starting at 8, with a live auction at 8:30.
The Keeneland video montage celebrating the county’s horses was directed by G. D. Hieronymus, with musical arrangement by Johnie Dean of Midway University.
Tickets for the fundraising event are $35 a person and may be purchased by calling the Woodford Theatre box office at 873-0648. All proceeds from the event will “help us with upgrades and refurbishing of the theater,” said Trish Clark, Woodford Theatre executive/artistic director.
Auction items include a week’s vacation at a resort in Myrtle Beach, a signed UK basketball, a night’s stay at The Kentucky Castle, a bourbon tasting party for 10 and several pieces of artwork by local artists, Clark said.
