Bobby Dotson, 82, widower of the late Sissy Ahern Dotson, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018.
Born on March 23, 1936, in Midway, he was the son of the late Walter “Buck” and Elizabeth Kinley Dotson. Retired from the United States Postal Service, he was an auctioneer, real estate broker, and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by a daughter, Janet (Mark) Dotson Hall, Lexington; a son, Heath (Leigh) Dotson, Georgetown; a daughter-in-law, Petra Dotson, Versailles; a sister, Edith Hogg, Versailles; three brothers Kenneth Dotson, Frankfort; Phillip Dotson and Gerald Dotson, both of Versailles; and six grandchildren, Gavin and Sarah Hall, Taylor and Luke Dotson, and Reece and Olivia Dotson. In addition to his wife, Sissy, and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Blake Whitney Dotson; a sister, Ruth Dotson Richardson; and a grandson, Jordan Hall.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at St. Leo Catholic Church by Father Danny Schwendeman. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery, Versailles. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 9, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd., Frankfort.
