• Opening Reception for Velichor: The Art of Stevie Moore, 2 to 4 p.m., main library. (All welcome) Artist Stevie Moore specializes in dinosaur and paleo-art. Show runs through Aug. 31.

• What Are You Reading? Book Group, 12 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults) Share and discuss current reads. No assigned books.

• Drawing 101, 6 to 7:30 p.m., main library. (Ages 11 to 18) Learn drawing basics and pencil your own comic characters. Call 873-5191 to sign up for this free program.

• Midway Book Club, 6:30 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults) The book club will meet to discuss “Vinegar Girl” by Anne Tyler. All are welcome.

• Preschool Story Hour, 11 a.m., Midway Branch. (Ages 5 and younger) Children (with a favorite adult) have fun with engaging books, songs and activities as they build their early literacy skills.

• Art Attack, 3 p.m., Midway branch. (Grades K-4) Draw, trim, glue, paint, and create. Join us for a creative art project, a snack and a story.

• Coloring for Grown-ups, 6 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults and teens) Coloring can relieve stress and anxiety while promoting creativity. Revisit your youth and color with other adults using wax crayons, colored pencils or markers. Unwind with a cup of tea and use your imagination to create a beautiful picture. • Dynamic Doers: Decorate Notebooks and School Supplies, 2 to 4 p.m., Midway branch. (Ages 11 to 18) Kick off the new school year by bringing in your new binders, notebooks, folders, etc. to decorate. All craft material will be provided along with one notebook.
