Lexington weekly fuel update

Gasoline prices in Lexington have fallen 8.3 centers per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.65/g, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 275 stations in Lexington. This compares with the national average that has increased 1.1 cents per gallon versus last week to $2.85/g, according to GasBuddy.

Average gasoline prices on Aug. 13 in Lexington have ranged widely over the last five years: $2.23/g in 2017, $2.12/g in 2016, $2.38/g in 2015, $3.41/g in 2014 and $3.42/g in 2013.

Including the change locally during the past week, prices yesterday were 41.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago and are 24.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has dropped 3.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 50.3 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

Areas near Lexington and their current gas price climate:

Kentucky - $2.67/g, down 4.2 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.71/g.

Cincinnati - $2.65/g, down 13.7 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.79/g.

Louisville - $2.93/g, up 8.6 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.85/g.
