Williams running for 5th district school board seat

I’m writing to announce my candidacy for the Woodford County School Board for the 5th district. My family and I have lived in Woodford County for over 12 years. Our daughter, Sydney, attends WCMS and our son, Sean, attends Huntertown Elementary. My number one priority is to insure that all kids in Woodford County receive the best education possible. Over the past few years, I’ve served WCS as an SBDM representative, Facility Planning Committee member, and Redistricting Committee member. I also currently serve on an Engineering Task Force for the Kentucky Department of Education’s Division of College and Career Readiness. I am an active member and deacon at Journey Church.

If elected, I will focus my efforts toward the following:

• Improving the career readiness of our graduates

• Making WCS a great place to work

• Implementing our current Facility Plan

A licensed engineer with 20 years’ experience in the private sector, I offer a unique perspective of both advanced engineering training and business management experience. I currently mentor several high school students preparing to enter the workforce. As a consultant to industry, I want to improve our career counseling and readiness training so that more graduates obtain skills required for the high-demand jobs in our area.
