Traugott to run for reelection

Brian Traugott has officially announced his plans to seek reelection as mayor of Versailles. A lifelong Versailles resident, Traugott and his family’s deep roots in the community have provided him the foundation to serve his fellow citizens and represent their interests.

“I’m proud to have been able to partner with so many great citizens, nonprofit organizations, and government officials on so many achievements,” Traugott said, “and I look forward to using the experience I’ve gained to continue to build upon these successes. Serving my hometown has been the greatest honor of my professional life.”

During his term, Versailles residents have seen their taxes lowered and witnessed unparalleled economic development. The city has also enjoyed a revitalization of downtown, benefitted from an increased focus on public safety and opioid abuse, and witnessed an improvement in the operations of city government.

Brian is a 1997 graduate of Woodford County High School and holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville. He lives in Versailles with his wife, Laini, and their new son Liam.
