Woodford Wrestling Club shines at John Samples Tournament

Division 3 60 pounds Brycen Gray placed third. In the first round, Gray won by decision over Casen Snyder (Court House Cobras). Gray won by decision again in the second round over Madden Kilgore (Shore Sports Club). In the third round, Gray lost by technical fall to Blake Coakley (Nellsonville-York) but rallied back in round four with a win by fall over Jared Young (Shore Sports Club). In round five, Gray lost a 13-6 decision to Xander Clark (Dodge Knights). Division 3 100-115 pounds Jeffrey Temprano placed second. In round one, Temprano won by fall over Zander Workman (Alpha Wrestling Club) and lost by major decision to Riggins Hansgen (no affiliation) in round two. In the third round, Temprano won by fall over Caleb Leistritz (Triad Youth Wrestling) Division 4 140 pounds Jordan Brickhouse placed sixth. In round one, Brickhouse lost by fall to Kallan Baker (Newark). Brickhouse was pinned in round two by Luke James (BTWC) and was pinned in round three by Jeffrey Blair (Dayton Christian). Brickhouse was pinned in round four by Jake Bashor (Court House Cobras) and pinned in round five by Blake Jenkins (Adena Warriors). Division 6 152 pounds Ronan Wyatt placed fourth. Wyatt won by major decision in the first round over Drew Gray (Kenton Ridge). In the semi-finals, Wyatt lost a 2-0 decision to Devan Hendricks (Team Hendricks) and won in sudden victory over Colton Robbins (Reading) in the consolation semi-finals. In the third place match, Wyatt forfeited to Cyle Wells (Springfield). Division 6 160 pounds Triston Brooks won the division. Brooks won by fall over Kaleb Vanhorn (Greenview) in the first round. In the second round, Brooks won by technical fall over Hayden Caskey (Shore Sports Club) and won by fall over CamRon Callahan (Beast Mode) in the third round. In round four, Brooks won by fall over Anthony Porter (Cambridge Youth).
