Monday, Sept. 3

• The Main Library and Midway Branch will be closed for Labor Day.

Tuesday, Sept. 4

• English Classes/ Clases de inglés, 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., main library. (Adults/adultos) Learn English grammar and vocabulary, practice speaking and more. Aprendemos gramática, vocabulario, y conversación en inglés, y mucho más.

• Toddler Tales, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 2 to 3) Enjoy songs, rhymes, stories and great activities.

• Preschool Stories, 11 a.m., main library. (Ages 4 to 5) Books and more to enhance pre-literacy skills and to have fun.

• Preschool Story Hour, 11 a.m., Midway Branch. (Ages 5 and younger) Children (with a favorite adult) have fun with engaging books, songs and activities as they build their early literacy skills.

• Art Attack, 3 p.m., Midway branch. (Grades K to 4) Draw, trim, glue, paint and create. Join us for a creative art project, a snack and a story.

• Internet and Social Media Safety for Parents, 6:30 p.m., main library. (Adults) Learn how to keep your kids safe online with Bob Gibson, WC Schools’ Chief Information Officer. Call 873-5191 to sign up.

Wednesday, Sept. 5

• Baby Story Time, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 9 to 23 months) Songs, rhymes, stories and activities.

• Teen Game Time, 4 to 5 p.m., main library. (Ages 11 to 18) Play exciting board, card and video games. Call 873-5191 to sign up.

• Woodford Trail Walkers, 6:30 p.m., Midway Branch. (Adults) Join us every Wednesday evening for a brief walk and fellowship with friends. We will be using our new entrance to Walter Bradley Park to explore the trails. No sign up necessary.

Thursday, Sept. 6

• Writers’ Group, 6:30 p.m., main library. (Adults and teens) Kick-start your imagination with creative writing exercises.

Friday, Sept. 7

• Fireside Chat with Paul Prather, 6 p.m., main library. (Adults) Lexington Herald-Leader columnist Paul Prather will discuss “Civility in an Uncivil Society.” Open to anyone interested in a civilized discourse on current issues. Please call 873-5191 to sign up. Saturday, Sept. 8

• Super Story Time: Fairytale Fun, 11 a.m., main library. (Families) Blow down straw houses, clop across the Troll’s bridge and make goodies for Grandma. Call 873-5191 to sign up.

• Kids Read to Dogs, 3 p.m., main library. (Ages 5 to 11) Children gain confidence by reading to friendly therapy dogs. Call 873-5191 to sign up.
