Letters to the Editor

Not time for big spending

Editor, The Sun:

Everybody isn’t against everything that’s locally proposed and they shouldn’t be criticized. Many just feel that it’s not the time to keep spending money. We’re not against a downtown pavilion. We’re not against a new high school or any of those things. Being financially over-extended is just not a desirable thing right now! Making ends meet nowadays is hard on many people and those million dollar figures being proposed by our City Council and Board of Education are frightening. Can we get real and still be in accord?

We all have wants, but our wallets all too often say, “No.”

We have to listen to our wallets!

Just a reminder to our elected officials: You are supposed to serve our interests and not be self- serving, but candid with the public and each other! Transparency? If we don’t see it or can’t find it, then it’s not transparent.
