Versailles police responded to two accidents involving injuries and 10 non-injury accidents.
On Aug. 27 at 5:59 p.m., a Toyota Avalon driven by Kirby Allen, 77, of 805 Eagle Crest Drive, was on Kroger Way going straight onto Lexington Road with a green light when it was struck by a Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Devin W. Ware, 25, of Frankfort, who ran the red light. Allen and a passenger in Ware’s vehicle, Alexius A. Shorter of Louisville, were taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Ware was charged with DUI (second offense) and no insurance.
On Aug. 27 at 8:10 p.m., Sharlene D. Goree, 54, was riding a Harley Davidson FLS westbound on Tyrone Pike when she lost control, overcorrected, ran off the road into an earth embankment and was thrown from the motorcycle. She was taken to UK Chandler Hospital.
Police say her vehicle was not under proper control.
