Board approves amended permit
The Board of Adjustment (BOA) unanimously approved an amended conditional-use permit Monday, which gives the owner of a dog breeding/training center on Troy Pike the go ahead to construct two buildings on the 31-acre property.
The approved permit allows Kathy Burgess (GoldenQuest, LLC) to move forward with plans for an 8,000 square-foot building and a 1,000 square-foot building to expand her existing business at 12641 Troy Pike.
The business employs seven fulltime and 14 part-time staff, with plans to hire five more, according to information given to the BOA.
Burgess had already been given approval to construct a 100-foot-by-100-foot building on the Troy Pike property, but requested an amendment to her permit in order to have a separate quarantine/isolation building.
The BOA approved a front-yard setback variance, which allows John Vance and Jan Smith to place a 48-inch high fence 19 feet from the sidewalk along Pine Grove Road. The fence will secure an in-ground swimming pool at 2064 Rose Bay Road.
