Colonels award record $2M in grants

The Life Adventure Center and the Woodford Theatre, in Woodford County, will be among the 230 charities throughout the Commonwealth that receive, through donations from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels (HOKC)and around the world, grants totaling $2 million.

The $2 million mark is a record for the Kentucky Colonel’s annual grant program, according to HOKC Executive Director Sherry Crose, as more than 3-million Kentuckians will be aided through the combined impact of the non-profit organizations receiving these grants.

HOKC Commanding General Lynn Ashton adds: “Being a Kentucky Colonel is more than just hanging a certificate on your wall. We are an active group of compassionate people who care about people.”

HOKC is a 501(c)(3) supporting Kentucky charities and worthy organizations through its Good Works Program. Donations are given by Colonels appointed by the Governor, who chose to exercise this honor in a meaningful way. For more information go to www.kycolonels.org.
