Dake to run for reelection

I’m pleased to announce that I am running for reelection to Versailles City Council and would be honored to serve you for a second term. Legislating is a team effort and I am proud of our accomplishments, including approving a balanced budget, work on a new police station, an updated website and new transparency ordinances.

I remain dedicated to my work as chair of the Downtown Planning Advisory Committee and am excited by our achievements: rain gardens on Lexington Road; improvements in Big Spring Park; better wayfinding signage and an initiative to encourage buying local from downtown businesses.

Nothing I’ve accomplished, though, has been without the support and hard work of members of the community who made these projects happen. Working with others who care about Versailles has been the greatest joy of my tenure.

A Versailles resident for 26 years, my husband, Bill, and I have raised three children here, two who are in college and one in Army boot camp. I work in business development at Bluegrass Care Navigators, serve as a volunteer community educator with the Alzheimer’s Association, and an afterschool tutor for elementary school-age English language learners.

I’d be grateful for your continued support in November.
