Gov. Bevin appoints Chandler to Kentucky Boards and Commissions
Gov. Matt Bevin has reappointed Albert B. Chandler III, of Versailles, to the State Board of Elections Chandler is an attorney and executive director of the Kentucky Humanities Council. He will represent the Democratic Party of Kentucky and serve for a term expiring Sept. 15, 2022.
The State Board of Elections, an independent agency charged with administering the Commonwealth’s election laws, promulgating administrative regulations necessary to properly carry out its duties, supervising the registration and purgation of voters, appointing the political party representatives to the 120 county boards of elections, and certifying the official election results. The Board is comprised of seven members: the Secretary of State (chairperson), along with three Democratic members and three Republican members appointed by the Governor.
