Thurman seeks council seat

With pride for my town and a passion for public service, I am eagerly pursuing a seat on Midway’s City Council. I have lived and worked in Midway for 10 years. My husband, Ian, and I are raising our two children in this community that we love.

Over the last decade my work at the Midway Branch Library has given me the unique opportunity to get to know the community on both a personal and comprehensive level. Since becoming the branch manager, I have made it my goal to reach out and collaborate with individuals, schools, civic groups and other organizations to form valuable partnerships that benefit us all.

As a member of the city council, I would be honored to take my service to a new level, as many have before me. I believe it is important to engage our active, older generation with the many young families residing in Midway and, together, address housing and land-use issues that will affect our entire community. It is with sincere intentions that I enter into this campaign, not to make big changes, but to help preserve the characteristics that make Midway special through inevitable progress in our future.
