Lady Tigers crush Royal Spring, 42-13

The Woodford County Middle School seventh-grade team crushed Royal Springs 42-13 Sept. 20. Woodford was on fire to start the first quarter. Ella Webster hit a pair of three-pointers and added another basket for eight points in the quarter. Taylor Patterson and Callie Hudson each chipped in with four points. In the second half, Hudson took the game over, scoring 12 of her team-high 18 points. Webster finished with nine points, Patterson had six and Sydney Walton scored three. The WCMS girls' eighth-grade basketball team lost 23-32 to Royal Springs Sept. 20. The Lady Tigers scored five points in the first quarter, with Ella Webster scoring a basket and Walton draining a pair of free throws. In the second quarter, the Lady Tigers scored six points and were led by Mia Vanhoose who nailed a three-pointer. After a slow third quarter where the Lady Tigers only scored two points, they put up a furious rally in the fourth quarter but fell short. Walton and Jocelyn Edwards each scored a pair of baskets. Hayden Wells chipped in with a bucket. The WCMS sixth-grade team lost 7-26 to Royal Springs Sept. 20. Katie Pantaliono scored five points to lead the Lady Tigers. Gabrielle Hurt chipped in with two points.
