WCHS boys’ cross country places third at HillBilly run

High School cross country team, competed in the 20th annual HillBilly Run in Bardstown. Over 50 teams competed on the rain-soaked course Sept. 22. Boys' varsity 5K (Top 50) The Jackets placed third with an average time of 17:52.89. Kyle Holt was 25th (17:33.37), Brayden Staff was 26th (17:33.67), Abran Santos was 30th (17:45.28), and Korry Blankenship was 43rd (18:06.94). Girls’ varsity 5K (Top 50) The Lady Jackets placed 12th with an average time of 22:49.34. Katie Gatewood placed 47th (22:09.43). JV Boys 5K (Top 50) The Jackets were runner-up with an average time of 19:46.71. Mitchell Scott finished ninth (19:16.77), Scott Watson was 10th (19:29.08), James Hawkins was 11th (19:37.70), Jack Shea was 18th (20:08.05), Ryan Hash was 19th (20:21.91), Colin McGowan was 32nd (21:22.65), Nathan Hardee was 35th (21:38.97) and Jarom Bradshaw was 36th (21:39.88). JV Girls 5K (Top 50) Isabella Steely finished 32nd (28.57.02) and Arissa Keith was 47th (33:31.19). Middle School boys' 3K (Top 50) Landon Wettlaufer finished 25th (11:41.13).
