Gary Jones for Versailles City Council

I am running for City Council on Nov. 6th. I am currently a deacon at First Christian Church, and I am the kitchen coordinator, providing meals for their events. I volunteer with the Ministerial Association and the Woodford County Food Bank in organizing a weekly community dinner, which has provided more than 120,000 meals in the last eight years. I am on the board of Mentors and Meals, an after-school program that tutors and feeds at risk children, and I am also an active member on the board of the Woodford County Farmers’ Market. In December 2017, with a partner, I opened Versailles Brewing Company Restaurant, and we will be opening the sister brewing company in October.

I came to Versailles with my wife in the late ‘90s because of the small-town atmosphere and that is something I treasure, but I strongly believe in that saying by Lou Holtz, “In this world you’re either growing or you’re dying.” There are options between stagnation and uncontrolled growth, we must work together to find them.

I am available for questions that anyone might have at 859-321-0582, and I would appreciate your vote and the chance to serve the city of Versailles.
