Lady Tigers fall to Scott County

The Woodford County Middle School girls' eighth-grade basketball team lost 44-26 to Scott County Thursday, Sept. 27. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Chloe Brown, who scored 12 points. In the first quarter, the Lady Tigers struggled out of the gate, scoring just four points. The Lady Tigers came to life in the second quarter on three three-pointers by Brown and a bucket by Hayden Wells. Already trailing by double figures, the Lady Tigers mustered just three points in the third quarter on a three-pointer by Brown. Brown hit her fourth three-pointer of the game in the fourth quarter, but Scott County ran away with the victory. The Lady Tigers' sixth-grade team lost 27-5 to Scott County Sept. 27. Maddie Buntain and Jasmine Williams each scored a basket for the Lady Tigers. Lexington Catholic The Lady Tigers' eighth-grade team lost 45-13 to Lexington Catholic Sept. 24. Woodford was led in scoring by Jocelyn Edwards who tallied four points. The WCMS seventh-grade team beat Lexington Catholic 41-30. The Lady Tigers were led by Callie Hudson who scored 18 points. Ella Webster chipped in 13 including one three-pointer. Sydney Walton scored six points. The WCMS sixth-grade team lost 36-19 to Lexington Catholic Sept. 24. Katie Pantaliono led the Tigers with six points. Abbey Popham added five and Laney Preston had four.
