Library Events Monday, Oct. 8

• What Are You Reading? Book Group, 12 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults) Broaden your reading horizons. Share your favorite new book and author. Enjoy coffee, a snack and lively discussions. No assigned books. No sign-up necessary.

• Matinee Monday, 2 p.m., main library. (All welcome) A rabbit cop must solve a missing persons case in an animal city. Animated. Rated PG. Call 873-5191 to sign up and for movie title.

• Midway Book Club, 6:30 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults) The book club will meet to discuss “The Widow of the South” by Robert Hicks. All are welcome.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

• English Classes/ Clases de inglés, 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5:30 p.m., main library. (Adults/adultos) Learn English grammar and vocabulary, practice speaking and more. Aprendemos gramática, vocabulario, y conversación en inglés, y mucho más.

• Toddler Tales, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 2 to 3) Enjoy songs, rhymes, stories and great activities.

• Preschool Stories, 11 a.m., main library. (Ages 4 to 5) Books and more to enhance pre-literacy skills and to have fun.

• Preschool Story Hour, 11 a.m., Midway Branch. (Ages 5 and younger) Children (with a favorite adult) have fun with engaging books, songs and activities as they build their early literacy skills.

• Sew Fun for Teens, 2 to 4 p.m., main library. (Ages 11 to 18) Learn how to sew by hand to make a small stuffed owl. You’ll learn different stitching techniques of hand-embroidery to make this fun project. Taught by WC Extension Agent Elizabeth Coots. Call 873-5191 to sign up.

• Art Attack, 3 p.m., Midway branch. (Grades K-4) Draw, trim, glue, paint, and create. Join us for a creative art project, a snack and a story.
