Woodford Theatre recipient of grant
Woodford Theatre received a grant from the Honorable Order Kentucky Colonels (HOKC) in the amount of $2,176 to purchase assisted listening devices.
The Woodford Theatre serves Central Kentucky by producing high quality live theatre. This mission is accomplished through involving volunteers in all aspects of the organization, providing educational opportunities to people of all ages, and maintaining a sound business structure which is fiscally responsible. The theatre is thrilled to receive this award from the Kentucky Colonels as it will allow the theatre to make a crucial next step in accessibility for our patrons. The assisted listening devices will be available for patron usage at all Woodford Theatre performance events following purchase and installation.
The $2 million mark is a record for the Kentucky Colonel’s annual grant program, according to HOKC Executive Director Sherry Crose, as more than 230 charities throughout the Commonwealth will receive grants this year and 3-million Kentuckians will be aided through the combined impact of the non-profit organizations receiving these grants.
HOKC is a 501(c)(3) supporting Kentucky charities and worthy organizations through its Good Works Program. Donations are given by Colonels appointed by the Governor, who chose to exercise this honor in a meaningful way. For more information go to www.kycolonels.org.
