A Home for Dessie

Cats are wonderful companion animals. Although they do fine amongst themselves, they enjoy the company of their people. Those of you who have owned a cat know just how distinct their personalities are from one another. This trait puts them in the runner-up spot as the most desired pet around the world. Cats even have special ways of communicating their love for us with sweet meows, rubbing around our legs, and jumping up into our laps. Here at the Woodford Humane Society we have many kitties of all ages, colors and sizes that are in need of their forever homes.

I would like to introduce to you a very special cat named Dessie. She is a uniquely colored dilute calico around the age of eight. Dessie was picked up as a stray, though you wouldn’t believe it. She is super sweet and enjoys cuddles. She can be bashful, but it doesn’t last long once you give her a few scratches under her chin.

Dessie is currently our longest-term resident. She first came through our doors over 400 days ago and counting. We believe she has been here as long as she has because of her relaxed, quiet nature. She is not the first to jump up demanding your attention, but is always welcoming to some gentle rubs and scratches. Dessie’s favorite hobbies are snacking, cuddling and watching the birds go by from a nice sunny window.

Dessie is patiently waiting for her new family to come swoop her up and away to her forever home. She is an all-around great kitty and simply a joy to have as company. She does great around children and gets along well with other cats. With a heart as big as hers, there in no way you want to miss out on meeting this gentle, loving girl.

Are you looking for a new four-legged fur baby to add to your family? Stop by the Adoption Center and spend some quality time with Dessie. She is bound to touch your heart in ways that may change your life forever. While you’re here take a look at the many other cats and dogs available for adoption. They are all waiting to find their special someone to take them to their forever homes. If you would like to learn more about adopting one of our pets, contact the Adoption Center at 859-879-5491.
