Donald P. Farley, 72 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.

He served as a major in the U.S. Army and was a school teacher and principal in Woodford County. He was a dedicated sports fan, especially the Cincinnati Reds, and an avid reader of books on history and biographies.

He was the loving husband of Carol Farley (nee Forrer); loving father of Stephanie (Jim) Farley Dietz and Valerie (Greg) Farley Barckhoff; loving grandfather of Avery, Alex, Turner and Kaylee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Bertha Farley; and his brother, Gary Farley, who died in the line of duty in the Vietnam War.

A Catholic blessing took place on Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Pius X Church, Edgewood. Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft. Wright is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covington Catholic High School, 1600 Dixie Highway, Park Hills, Ky. 41011 or the Kenton County Animal Shelter, 1020 Mary Laidley Drive, Covington, Ky. 41011.
