Police Reports

Versailles police responded to five vehicle accidents involving injuries, 28 non-injury accidents, three domestic-related complaints and issued one citation/summons.

On Oct. 29 at 8:17 p.m., a Volvo S-70 driven by Jenny Moore, 65, of 178 Bayberry Road, was westbound on Simmons Street while a Ford F-350 driven by Jonathan D. Lowe, 37, of 108 Dan Drive, was eastbound. Moore said she saw Lowe, but was worried about a ditch on her side of the road and moved closer. Lowe slowed almost to a stop and was partially in the grass on his side of the road when he was sideswiped by Moore, who told police due to a cataract, she didn’t realize how close she was to Lowe. Police say Moore misjudged the clearance and that her vehicle was not under proper control.

On Nov. 1 at 7:57 a.m., a Toyota Camry driven by Mary K. Moore, 31, of 502 Tecumseh Trail, and a Chevrolet Impala driven by Nicole L. Grafton, 33, of Lawrenceburg, were eastbound on Lexington Road. Grafton was in the right lane and switched lanes, before slowing abruptly due to slowing or stopped traffic. Moore tried to avoid by steering left, but struck Grafton. Grafton was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say Moore was following too close.

On Nov. 1 at 12:53 p.m., a Nissan Rogue driven by Desire M. Matasio, 27, of Lexington, was eastbound on Lexington Road in the left lane. A Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ernst A. Moser, 71, of Means, Ky., pulled out of the Speedway parking lot and attempted to merge into the left lane. Police say Moser failed to yield and was struck by Matasio. Matasio was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. Police say Moser failed to yield and misjudged the clearance.

On Nov. 1 at 3:43 p.m., an Acura MDX driven by Sigmund G. Wooldridge, 63, of Lexington, and a Toyota Corolla driven by Kelly D. Fitch, 50, of Norfolk, Va., were eastbound on the U.S. 60 Bypass. Wooldridge said he switched from the right lane to the left and rear-ended Fitch. Fitch told police she was stopped at a red light at Douglas Avenue. A passenger in Fitch’s vehicle, Andrew Williams, 22, also of Norfolk, was taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital.

On Nov. 4 at 11:59 a.m., a Toyota pickup driven by Jeffery A. Meyer, 37, of 665 Gastineau Lane, was eastbound on the U.S. 60 Bypass when he crossed the median and both westbound lanes, then struck a fence. Meyer was taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital. He told police he was under the influence of Percocet.

On Nov. 2, shoplifting of $200 of merchandise was reported at Kroger.

On Nov. 2, a forged check for $850 was reported at Community Trust Bank.

On Nov. 3, harassment was reported at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites.

On Oct. 25, a stolen check for $80 was reported on Cleveland Avenue.

On Nov. 3, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and fleeing or evading police on foot were reported on Macey Avenue.

On Nov. 4, an air compressor worth $80 was reported stolen from a home on Powhatan Trail.

On Nov. 5, identity theft was reported at a bank on Eagle Crest Drive.

On Nov. 4, marijuana trafficking, second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on South Hill Road.

On Nov. 3, third-degree criminal trespassing was reported at a South Main Street convenience store.

On Nov. 2, police issued a citation/summons on Macey Avenue for possession of marijuana.

On Oct. 29, a house key and fob worth a total of $95 were reported stolen from a vehicle on Frankfort Street.

On Nov. 2, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Steele Road.

On Oct. 29, a PS4 and game worth a total of $515 were reported stolen from a home on Dan Drive.

On Oct. 29, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Shannon Run Road that caused $200 in damage to a Ford F-350.

On Oct. 29, a Hyundai Elantra was reported vandalized on Lexington Road, with damage estimated at $300.

Fire Reports

City

Firefighters made 16 EMS assists and installed two child safety seats in the past week.

On Oct. 30, they responded to a dumpster fire on Ridge View Road, a system malfunction at Quad/Graphics and an alarm in the area of Margaret Hall.

On Nov. 1, they responded to a vehicle accident on the U.S. 60 Bypass and an alarm accidentally activated on Sugar Tree Lane.

On Nov. 2, they responded to a mysterious odor on Stourbridge Road.

On Nov. 3, they responded to a vehicle fire in the Kroger parking lot and the mysterious odor on Stourbridge Road.

On Nov. 4, they responded to an unauthorized burn on Stourbridge Road and a vehicle accident involving injuries on Mildred Street.
