Voting wait times vary

Early on Election Day, the Sun posted a message on the Voices of Versailles Facebook page asking people to share when and where they voted – and how long they had to wait. While turnout was reportedly heavy across the county, the answers varied, depending on the precinct and time of day. Some voters reported seeing a long line and returning later, and some of the busier precincts added paper ballot stations as the day went on.

Here are some of the responses:

Woodford County High School 7:30 a.m. (city precinct): 30 minutes 8:20 a.m.: 20 minutes 11 a.m.: 30 minutes 11:30 a.m.: no wait 10 a.m. (city precinct): 40 minutes

Southside Elementary 11 a.m.: no wait 1 p.m.: no wait 12:15: no wait (paper ballot)

Huntertown Church of the Nazarene 6 a.m.: no wait 6 a.m.: 15 minutes 7:40 a.m.: 45 minutes 10 a.m.: 10 minutes

Adult Education Center 10 a.m.: no wait

Woodford County Middle School 11:20 a.m.: 25 minutes

St. Andrews Church 7:15 a.m.: 30 minutes

Huntertown Elementary 1 p.m.: no wait (paper ballot) 2:30 p.m.: less than two minutes

Simmons Elementary 11 a.m.: 50 minutes

Northside Elementary 2 p.m.: three minutes 3:15 p.m.: no wait

Big Sink Fire Station 10 a.m.: 30 minutes

Jack Jouett House 7:30 a.m.: 30 minutes
