• Opening Reception for Angels and Gramophones: The Art of Patrick Lynch, 2 to 4 p.m. (All welcome) Patrick Lynch’s work explores the eternal human quest for love and acknowledges the haunting melancholy of loss and longing in a setting of Gothic romance.

Monday, Nov. 19

• What Are You Reading? Book Group, 12 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults) Broaden your reading horizons. Share your favorite new book and author. Enjoy coffee, a snack and lively discussions. No assigned books. No sign-up necessary.

• Antique Phonographs: The Beauty of Sound, 6:30 p.m. (Adults) Brian Gorrell, President of the Kentucky Antique Phonograph Society, discusses form and function in the classic art of the phonograph. View a variety of antique phonographs and listen to antique wax cylinders. Call (859) 873-5191 to sign up.

Tuesday, Nov. 20

• Toddler Tales, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 2-3) Enjoy songs, rhymes, stories, and great activities.

• Preschool Stories, 11 a.m., main library. (Ages 4-5) Books and more to enhance pre-literacy skills and to have fun.

• Preschool Story Hour, 11 a.m., Midway Branch. (Ages 5 and younger) Children (with a favorite adult) have fun with engaging books, songs and activities as they build their early literacy skills.

• Art Attack, 3 p.m., Midway branch. (Grades K-4) Draw, trim, glue, paint and create. Join us for a creative art project, a snack and a story. Call (859) 846-4014 to sign up.

• Yarn Ballers Craft Circle, 6 to 7:30 p.m. (Adults) Drop in for casual crafting and conversation.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

• Brains and Balance, 9:30 a.m., main library. (Ages 60+) Balance body and brain with physical and cognitive exercises. Participants should wear comfortable athletic shoes to each class. Taught by Anne Graff. Call (859) 873-5191 to sign up.
