Audrey Jones Reed, 79, widow of Charlie Reed, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at Baptist Health in Lexington.

Born on March 20, 1939, in Nicholasville, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Ova Reed Jones. She was a 1956 graduate of Lafayette High School and worked as a statistician for 25 years at the Woodford Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church of Versailles and the Woodford County Woman’s Club.

She is survived by her three children, Mike (Andrea) Reed, Lexington; Michelle Meurer, Mission Hills, Kansas; and Malicia (John) Kromer, Alexandria, Virginia; a sister, Mildred Jones, Paris; and three granddaughters, Sara Meurer, Mission Hills, Kansas; Katherine Kromer and Lucy Kromer, Alexandria, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, former Mayor of Versailles, Charles “Charlie” Russell Reed; and three siblings, Katherine Brumfield, Opal Douglas and Helen Soper.

A memorial service was conducted Wednesday, Dec. 5, at First Christian Church by Rev. Marcus Lynn and Rev. Bert Eyster.
