Miles


Barbara Downey Miles, 72, wife of Ralph T. Miles, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at home.

Born on Jan. 26, 1946, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Katherine Sutherland Downey. She was employed by Kroger before she retired.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Mario) Joaquin; and Kathy Beasley, both of Versailles; a son, Tim Beasley, Lexington; a sister, Joan Melton, Berea; a brother, Paul Ray Downey, Versailles; and five grandchildren, Brittany Cox, Matthew Lewis, Jacob Drury, Joshua Beasley and Kelsie Stevens.

Services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 8, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, by Bro. Frank Layne. Pallbearers were Tim Beasley, Tim Miles, Jake Drury, Matt Lewis, Mario Joaquin, Joshua Beasley and Charlie Cox. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Miles and Matt Miles. Interment followed at Rose Crest Cemetery.
