Ernest Andrew “Ernie” Renner, 73, husband of Elaine Hancock Renner, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018.
Born on May 23, 1945, in La Plata, Maryland, he was the son of the late Emil and Margaret Gruss Renner. He was a graduate of La Plata High School, served in the U.S. Army National Guard and retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of civilian service. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Elaine Hancock Renner, Versailles, he is survived by two sons, Todd (Julie) Renner, Versailles; and Steve Renner, Orlando, Florida; a daughter, Michelle (Pat) Carder, Lusby, Maryland; four grandchildren, Christian, Abigail, Morgan and Riley; and three siblings, Margaret, Jack and Teresa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Veronica, Helen, and Charlie.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 13, at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, by the Very Rev. David Brannen. Interment at Rose Crest Cemetery will follow.
