Henry F. Berger, 71, widower of Vonda Clouse Berger, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at his home in Cynthiana.
Born on Sept. 7, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Henry E. Berger and Christine DuBois Harder. He was a graduate of Griffith High School in Griffith, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany. He retired from Quad Graphics after many years of service.
He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer (Denny) Powell, Versailles; Jessica (Ronnie) Scott, Cynthiana; and Julie (Kevin) Averill, Homer Glen, Illinois; four sisters, Jeanne Nelson, Portage, Indiana; Jill Berger, Phoenix, Arizona; Jan (Ronald) Wasieleski; and Judy Murdock, both of Portage, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Dylan Scott, Cynthiana; Sommer Melton, Kevin Hill, Christopher Bowman, Nick Powell, and Jordan Powell, all of Versailles; Jason Hill, Lexington; and Katie Averill, Homer Glen, Illinois; and a great-grandchild, Kadence Hill, Versailles. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Berger; and a daughter, Jolene Berger.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Rose Crest Cemetery.
