WCMS wrestling team goes 1-3 at Anderson County Duals

The Woodford County Middle School wrestling team opened its dual season with a 1-3 showing at the Anderson County Mustang Duals Saturday, Dec. 15. The Tigers continue to improve each week with more wrestlers tallying pins as the season unfolds. The Mat Tigers defeated the All-Star A-team 50-32 in the first round. Landon Wettlaufer won by pin in the 75-pound match and Aiden Slugantz won by a sudden victory in the 86- pound bout. Gabe Burden won by fall over Crayson Lafferty in the 92-pound match and Delano Mullins won by technical fall in the 113-pound match over Konner Cobb. Harley Graham, Noah Floyd, Aaron Turner and Anthony Tilley each picked up a win by fall to boost the Tigers to victory. East Oldham The Tigers dropped the second match to East Oldham 62-23. Wettlaufer won by fall over Tyler Bickett in the 75-pound bout and Burden pinned Tucker Howson in the 92-pound match. Mullins won by fall in just 24 seconds over Caleb Neal in the 113-pound match. Floyd won by fall over Carson Mullins in the 168-pound match. Ryle The Tigers lost 60-30 to Ryle in the third round match. Burden won by fall over Dylan Craddock in the 92-pound match and Cooper Ford won by forfeit at 98-pounds. Tilley won by forfeit at 152-pounds, Jonathan Garcia won by fall in the 190-pound weight class and Turner won by forfeit in the heavyweight bout. LaRue County The Tigers lost 48-42 in a nailbiter against LaRue County. Wettlaufer won by forfeit in the 75-pound bout and Burden won by fall over Landon Packard in the 92-pound match. Aiden Zaparanick-Brown won by fall over Austin Smith in the 105-pound match. Mullins pinned Sean Rivera at 113-pounds, Noel Devers pinned Joey Lucas in the 130-pound match and Floyd pinned Chase Bigenho in the 168 pound bout. Garcia pined Gabe Hutcherson in the 190 pound match.
