Hansel


John Hansel, 57, husband of Linda Lathery Hansel, died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at his residence.

Born on July 2, 1961, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Etta Mae Spencer Hansel. He was a former welder for Kuhlman Electric Corporation.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann (Tim) Blankenship, Carlisle; a son, Lewis Gene (Hettie Wilson) Sewell, Versailles; a sister, Geraldine Currens, Versailles; three brothers, Russell (Kathleen) Hansel, Nicholasville; James (Norma) Hansel and Bennie Hansel, both of Versailles; two grandchildren, Dustin “Old Coot” Blankenship and Dalton “Ford” Blankenship. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Etta Mae Spencer Hansel Sr.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Light House Church, Versailles. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.
