Lady Jackets crush Lexington Catholic; improve to 4-0

The Woodford County High School girls' lacrosse team whipped Lexington Catholic, 15-2 Friday, March 8. The game was played as a 7-on-7 with the Lady Knights missing half of their players due to illness. WCHS senior Abbey Peterson scored four goals on five shot attempts and added four assists. Junior Brittany Sherrod was brilliant in a five-goal performance. Sherrod and Peterson ran circles around the Lady Knights, building an 8-0 lead in the first ten minutes of the first half. Junior Brie Gaines scored a pair of goals, while senior Anna Manges, sophomore Avery McFarland and freshman Tarini Loyet each scored a goal.
McFarland led the Lady Jackets in fielding with five groundballs and Gaines added four. Junior goalkeeper Olivia Olivas stopped three shots and freshman Alexis Kartner stopped a pair of shots.
